Default Scapoose Sturgeon

I finally got some time off last week....so, I drug the boat out to scapoose to do some winter sturgeon. The water temp was around 38-40 degrees, and there was no cloud in the sky!!....so, halfway out of the channel...I decided to flip on the bilge pump ( just something I always do...new boat for me)....and swoosh...a full 3/4 inch stream of water out the pipe.....My mind raced through a million things of where this water was coming from.....so, I ripped the boat around to head back to the docks, while the water continued to race out....the boat was fine, I really couldn't tell a difference, but water in bilge does not make me happy.
Once I got to the dock, I decided to tie up and look in the bilge to see If I was "truly" taking on water....when I unscrewed the panel....water flooded back at me through the port. I let the pump run and noticed I wasn't adding water to the mix, just getting rid of it at a steady pace....it took 30+ minutes to finally drain the bilge!!!!....so, back to the river.
Once I got anchored, I immediatly started getting bit....I pulled in a non keeper....but it was the first for my boat...so, obviously I took a pic ( I am attaching my photos...I haven't set up a photo site yet)

After a few fish, the wind really started to pick up...and there was no way I could keep from swinging around. so, the fishing pretty much died for me.

Since you guys are always taking great pictures of Oregon scenery....I thought I would add one that is near to my heart...

As far as the water??...the only thing I can figure is when I store the boat...I use a tarp that doesn't quite cover the port side gunnel....I summized that maybe the water is dripping from the tarp and running in....when I stored it on Sunday....I removed the plug.....we will see if this is the case.....when we get some rain!
