winter steelheading while low n clear - all the waters we hit were getting skinny! one of the rivers only took 2-3 steps while crossing, and still kicked out fish!
had a kitchen pass from the lady for a 3 day midweek winter steelhead fish trip... fished from astoria on down to lincoln city.... hittin all the water in between! long days - the dog even had enough, and he's a tough one to tire out! only managed a couple pics, i dont like to get wild fish outta the water and i dont take self pics..... managed one fish that was a hatchery fish, double punched gill plate and was still bright... when i fished this little pool i saw this fish swim out of the rootwad, my jig was set at 3ft, he swam out about 4-6 feet to hit it! once i hooked him and was fighting him i saw another push around in the slot that must've been 15 lbs... heres the few fish pics - neat colors.... |
