Well, I went on my first Steelhead fishing trip the other day on the Nestucca River. Had a BLAST! We put in way up the river and all I can say is we put in at 5 and got out a 1.
We put in, climbed in the boat and anchored right there to cast a few times. About my second cast I hooked into about a 10 pound female. Had a great time bringing it, but unfortunately it was a native so I didn't get to take it home for the family to enjoy for dinner. Just though I would share it with everyone as I'm new to fishing this year and am now a Steelhead fisherman! Woo Hoo!!!

![]() Congrats on the Steelhead! I too just got my first Steelhead, i've posted pics in the thread about the Berkly Power Worm. Got him on the Alsea river, Tuesday. The Nestucca is an awesome fisherey! As well as Three Rivers, at the Cedar Creek Hatchery, I've moved down to Albany so I haven't made it out that way this year. I need to though, they usually have a pretty good Spring Chinook Run. Anyhow, keep up the good work, and good job on realeasing the Native! ![]() |
