Deschutes fish camp 2015

Went to the Deschutes a couple of weeks ago with some good people, and I'm glad we went earlier this year. With the mild weather this winter the bugs were out early this year. Fish camp 2015 was a great success. I wish I had taken more photos of some of the amazing fish, but I got a few.

While shane was sleeping, he heard "some weird noise"....it was the canopy being flung towards the river during the wind storm.

Looks like an excellent trip. I have heard from several people that the bugs were early this year. Were the snakes early too?

I can't speak for Jeanna, but we encountered nine rattlesnakes this year. Seven in one day. Three were almost stepped on or grabbed and were kind enough to warn us. Still lots of big bugs around this last weekend, with yellow sallies increasing down near Maupin.

Snakes were out. The four days we were there it was very cold, in the 30s at night and didn't get much above 65 during the day, making the snakes lethargic. They didn't rattle....very bad scenario. Nearly stepped on one as a result, and it was a very large snake.
