So ..... I'd say it's not just the fish that got hooked today [emoji12]. Nice one!

Yes, it looks like a chinook to me! Where did you take the kid fishing?

How and where did you catch it? Just curious looking at the rod propped up on the chair in the picture. Not on power bait?

Cheers

It's a steelhead with an adipose fin.

I'm guessing you haven't looked at the regs in a while.

I agree it's a wild steelhead, lots of spots, especially on the tail.

Almost everyone makes a mistake with the regs. now and then, 'fishermen' get things figured out and don't repeat the mistake, sometimes with a citation/fine to help it sink in, sometimes not.

(never mind, I thought it was from the Columbia River...)

Judging by the fact you have a stringer in your hand I'd say you Kept that fish. I know your new to the area so you might want to talk to some folks around town or read up on what your actually pulling out of a body of water.

It was caught in Klamath Lake using frozen minnows on a crappie rig. all legal :harhar: I'm sure the fish & game guy would have given him a citation when he checked for licenses and saw the fish.
