I am taking my 9 year old Grand Daughter to Siltcoos for a few days. The name of the game is she wants to catch fish period. Got the boat, rod, reels, and stuff. Any suggestions on what to do and where on the lake to fish. This could be an adventure for sure. Tight lines, Dan (qwapaw).

Perch are easy peasy, on that lake. Might make for some fun, for the kiddo. Just toss out a bobber, and and a worm, near / into the grasses around Butterfly Island.

Another idea would be, to troll (flat line) a flasher/worm set-up in front of the Siltcoos River outlet. The SRC's should be trickling in. And the state record, is from that lake!

we have found there can still be lots of coho smolt in the lake that love to go after trolled trout gear, these must be released or risk of a big ticket, watch for the classic forked tail and all silver color. cheers, roger

Well the Grand Daughter caught a bunch of perch. This trip was for her so I was the fish remover and hook baited. She had a blast. Now she want's her own Salmon rod and a week off from school to go with her dad an I. Might be fun, but I don't think they will let her in the Casino with us at night.
