Going tomorrow 4/21 taking puppy for her first fish trip

Hey all, so its been a while since i posted anything on any of the threads but i have been fishing.
went to Hagg two weekends ago and was catching constantly off a new area from where i usually go since we got out later than wanted and someone was already in it (should have kept my mouth shut on here about its local haha jk)
ended up having to keep a limit and shut myself down from the dumb ones who made hook retrieval turn to fish fry.
all stocker pellet heads for the most part but there was two good ones that gave me a little fight but were still nothing to brag about just laugh about
i got my little bro a Berkly "Trout Dough" rod for christmas that he almost lost from not paying attention and missing a bite that literally had his pole bent in half and almost in the water on its way out of the cradle before the fish spit off and swam away.
Anyways im goin out tomorrow morning EARLY and alone, im gonna maybe go to my usual spot if i can beat anyone else there and then i may travel around and hit some other spots.
im taking my 8 month old boxer for her first real fishing experience so im most likely going to be visible on the shore, haha oh yeah everything is done from the shore with me no boat no toon :(
so if you see a guy in a black hat with a red G-LOOMIS logo on the front with a cute little boxer puppy its me say hi ive met other OFF members out there and weve said hi to each other, and the puppy is chill so no crazy dog worries haha
thats it all ill be a good member and post up tomorrow night with a report, anyone want to go hit me up with a PM and well see what happens
good luck and tight lines

Right on Callaway, good to hear from you again. Going to Hagg also with my two little girls. I try to get them out a few times each year to get some daddy time... bank fishing the west side at my usual little honeyhole. Orange and chartreuse powereggs for the girls, just got a new Joe's Flies spinner to throw. Worms for backup. If you see guy in a blue tshirt camo hat with 2 cute little ladies throw up a wave.... went out 3 weeks ago and did well at first light, so going early again. Already pulled the Weber out in preparation for at least a couple of lemon stuffed fatties over hickory. Will report. A good weekend to all!

Good luck out there. Let me know how the Joe's Flies work out. I love using those. Have had lots of luck at Hagg with them.

hey all, so i know i said id be a good member and post up last night but the fact of the matter is after being out there 12 hours i came home cleaned my fish had a smoke and passed out lol
so heres my report, showed up at the lake a little after 7 since i spent some time checking out the elk herd on my way in it was the second time ive seen them so i decided to actually stop and admire for a few minutes this time
i slept in a little unfortunently cause sure enough someone was in my honey hole by the time i got up to the parking spot:( so i ended up shooting to the opposite end of the lake fromt he damn to try i spot ive looked at a few times but never tried, now i know why i never tried haha got no action at all and the people i talked to on my way in said the same thing, they ended up leaving before me to a differant spot.
so i went back to where i was the last time i was out and surprisingly no one was in the spot considering thats where a trail ends and oh boy am i glad i moved.
caught two stockers in 30 minutes on chartreuse eggs waited an hour switched to orange eggs and got nailed by a huge bite but went to set the hook and my drag was so light for the stocker fun that when i went to set all i hear was my drag screaming, now im not saying i hooked moby dick or anything im guessing it was in the 2 to the 3 lb range (just a guess) but with my drag set for footlongs and below i was just unprepared:(
not to be discouraged i kept at it and did end up getting a solid pound trout to go along with the small pellet head i had to keep due to swallowed hook removal euthanization.
i ended up switching between orange and chartreuse all day and made it work great, ended up catching 7 fish altogether and only kept 2 so in my eyes it was great, especially when the boaters are passing within spitting distance of you from the shore and you catch one right in front of them thats what i really enjoy haha.
as for the puppy she was thrilled with the lake environment and all the new smells but wasn't a fan of the actual fishing part, but she loved the catching and landing and gave every fish puppy kisses before going back.
dont know what happened but there was some sort of rescue on the lake or training but it envolved the fire department boat (saying that because it was bright ass red) and a helicopter making a landing at the ramp c area.
no clue what it really was but it made for some entertainment.
ended up leaving the lake around 730 and that was it.

I saw a news blurb this morning that said a guy had a heart attack at the lake yesterday. Gaston Fire Dept was their to run their new boat through the paces and helped to respond.
