Hagg would be closer for me, I just have caught only small perch or blue gill. I mean small. Very small. Even from a boat. So, maybe you all could give me tips on a better way to fish. It will depend on my schedule but if we can, I'll bring my hubby and my son to wherever.

I don't think it would be the place to meet.
Now I remember, I will take your word for it E.J.. Anyone else have a place in mind ? I understand know one wants to drive 2 hours for a day of fishing and get skunked, I mean really lets be honest....we all go to catch the rest of the experience is gravy. Don't get me wrong I love seeing Bald Eagles and River Otters as much as the next guy, but when I get up at 4:15 am its not to see the Eagle and Otters play.
My point is some of us are going to spend some time on the road, it would be nice to at least have a better than average day of angling. I was talking to a ODFW biologist Sunday and he mentioned that Look Out Point Res. on the upper middle fork of the Willamette River has Walleye in it, and a year round boat ramp with a picnic area - for the Greeting part..... I have never angled for Walleye myself but the shows I have seen on T.V. sure make them out to be a fun fish to pursue and very fine table fare. Just an Idea for debate.

Default Lookout

Lookout point sounds good to me. I don't have a boat so if anyone has an open seat. if not I will still come for the meet and greet.

Default Is there a date yet on the "Meet and Greet"?

So where are we on the meet and greet? I am still open on the 30th (sounds like rain though).

I don't have an open weekend day after that till 10/21 or 10/27. But don't work it around me.

Is there consenous on a location?

I have been enjoyin trout fishing...finaly caught a nice rainbow the other day at Ben & Doris Kay landing on the McKenzie.

If any of you are in the mood, would really like to go with someone that would show me the basics for Steel head or Salmon if that is an option.

But any fishing would be GREAT!

PS: Lookout Point Res. is easy for me to get to, and I have not fished there yet....that would be fine with me!

Post Spring time ?

I may have started this meet and greet a bit to late in the season, just getting the date is tough enough now add in a place and their is just no way we can get this done, lets table this idea until the spring. Not that we as anglers can't still get together for a day of lies and angling, but I just wasn't thinking of all the planning that goes into the thing. I would like it to be fun and memorable for all of us, you know have a BBQ and get to know each other in the sun shine not standing under an easy up.

Will let you know........I didn't mean we should abandon the project, for the time being lets get the place hammered out and then we can worry about the date. This will be in the late spring, you know give the water some time to warm up ...Lets try to find a spot that has a gathering place, like a day use area. We could have it be the base for all the other activities. So what's the scuttle butt on Big Cliff res. in the spring ??? I am very intrigued about this place, come on I know you anglers know more about the place than your letting on...is the boat ramp usable in the spring..?

I look forward to the Spring event. I also think that we can meet up in two's or three's as time and schedules allow before that.

Chuck, I will send you a photo of the Big Clifff boat ramp the next time I am up there. With the size of the ramp and the rapid fluctuation of the water level over the course of just a few hours (up to 6' at times) I think you will understand why you see few boats (other than kayaks and inflatables) in the water there. Still, it is a beautiful spot, and some large fish have been taken there.

I am sorry that the meet and greet did not work out, but I am grateful to Chuck for all of his efforts to get us together this Fall, as I am sure we all are.
