Hey GLF,
Yeah, the tuna fishing is awesome! We've made two trips and have done well, bringing 16 in our first trip and 20 (our targeted max.) the last time out. We're going to fish this Saturday again. We've fished between 27 to 50 miles out. Great action with doubles and triples!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Keep em' tight! Richard |

Thanks guys, we've been pretty lucky. Definitely spoiled by the ocean the first two trips, as Saturday's was a real wash-machine out there. We did bring in another 20, however! Ended the day with a nice double and boated both. That bloody deck shot was from just one fish! Sometimes we get a main vein when gaffing them, hence the deck color. We clean and rinse after every hookup, bleed the fish into the livewell and drain only when done fishing. GLF, we don't charter but you never know when an open seat will be available.... Let me know when you get up here and we'll see what's going on. Also, you probably monitor ifish, and there are lots of posts with open seats there or post a request for one. Lot's of good people on that forum as well, and a lot that will be in your neck of the woods. I believe you mentioned Portland? Where will you be working?
Keep em' tight, Richard |
