alsea river levels??
my new job takes me by the alsea all the time but ive never fished it. just wondering what the ideal river levels are around there for fall salmon? winter steelhead? thanks

I can't help you with exact numbers either, but I can offer a few hopefully useful links...
River levels and forecasts for most of Oregon and Washington... Northwest River Forecast Center The Alsea Tidewater gauge... TIDO3 Hydrograph So like I said, I don't know when the best level is, but using the forecast and the knowledge that a river that is dropping after a peak tends to hold more fish, you should be well on your way. Sorry OFF guys about plugging another forum but these guys have helped me with a lot of questions about salmon and steelhead and is full of tons of useful info. Not that OFF isn't

as far as official levels can't tell you but i have caught steelhead there when most people would say it was dry. That river get's blown out very fast but recovers fast as well. If you are driving by it everyday keep an eye on it and that night check the river levels on one of the other web sites members have given you when you think it looks good. I would say if you think it looks a little high it's probably better because it is such a small river. That's what i have done with other rivers and it seems to work. Good luck!
