Default Chinook in the Trask..

Well they are there! I didn't catch one but I saw about 8 pulled out of one hole! It was really fun to watch. Still nice and silver, they faught pretty well and lots of people had fish on only to loose them again. I bought the biggest net barely fits in the car. Too bad it stayed dry....But still a beautiful day, warm and not windy.

Yes, your turn will come. It will be when you least expect it too. Just keep going where the salmon are. Remember to keep your rod up, I have lost four now because they came unbuttoned because I didn't have tension on them.
If you take note of the water level and time of year(time of salmon return), you can go back next year when the conditions are matching. If you are drift fishing, then certain spots won't work if they are too low. Thus a myriad of tactics for catching fish. Bobber and egg clumps work nicely in low conditions because you can adjust depth and drift over the salmon a little slower. I'd use a little bit more flexible rod than you have for drift fishing. Did you learn the egg loop yet??
Here's a trask river level link...

Yes, learned the egg loop! There was a guy there and he was super sweet, taught my hubby and I how. Lots of folks were really nice, it was just hard because there were at least 20 ppl in a very small area of bank, plus boats on the other side, so many lines! Just unreal. I really prefer a more peaceful setting! But nice folks, and I learned tons. Also heard about the line up, good to reiterate! Thanks Dichro, for the tide page too, that's good to know where to find, I'll definately go back next year. Mabe rent a van and spend the night, get a spot early.....Unless I find a more secluded spot by then.
