braided line floats on top of the water which makes it great for bobber fishing like i like to do. If your afraid to trust the knot that use it with smaller line against smaller, more numerous fish like bass. Once that works than go for those big fall chinook. Having confidence in your knots is great, you can also test the knot on other things like a stump. Snag a hook to the stump and pull like you got snagged. if it snaps than it's probably not a good tie.

In my experience braid is no more susceptible to twisting than mono as that's more a factor in how you're fishing. Additionally it seems to be more tolerant of having twist in it too.
