A nibble is always better than nothing at all, and I believe that the scenery makes up for any bad day. Hope you have better luck next time out.

Looks like it was worth the trip just for the beautiful scenery.

I agree with obsessed, I would have spent the entire day there, that is just gorgeous water. Their just has to be a hog laying down there, I can see why you tried your luck.

I guess i should throw one up i got skunked for the first time in awile last night.
Fished gales creek for 2 hours at my favorite spot in the evening but nothing i threw my favorite spinners and spoons all over even broke out a littel hot shot. Best i got was a 1 bite from a nise fish but i was waching a green heron so i wasent ready for it and he got away. If i can get to buy mart before dinner i might go try agien later this evening. One quick trick i learned resently when the stream trout will not bite throw a Green 4 bluefox spinner down the current and bring it on back fast but keep it under the water. Works almost everytime on a good hole.

Default Skunked at Detroit

I took advantage of a perfect day on Tuesday, and headed out to Detroit Lake. I arrived at Big Cliff Reservoir directly below Detroit Dam in time for the sunrise, so I stopped there for an hour or two but didn't catch a thing. I then headed further upstream to Detroit reservoir, which is almost always good for a bite. I fished for 4 hours without even a nibble. Still, it was a great, if frustrating, day, thanks to the wonderful weather. I think the picture says it all.

Like you said, at least the weather cooperated. How big is Detroit, I have never been there. Looks pretty big on the map...

The lake at full pool is 3000 surface acres, and it has 33 miles of shoreline.

I would say it is a large lake.........33 miles of shore line, so it would take a few days to troll the lake
