Thumbs down Skunked at Foster!

Man I hate having to post on this thread...Oh well that's why they call it fishing and not catching. Anyway I went to Foster today and threw everything in my box at them! I got there about 9:30a and trolled for ever with out a bite. I changed lake trolling spinners, wedding rings with worm and corn and just worm, all different colors, tried long lining spinners, tried flat fish, blue fox lures...you name it I tried it. I finally went up the south Santiam finger and threw some spinners, rooster tails, bobber fished, and I only got a couple little tug's from a tiny fish that couldn't even get the hook in it's mouth. There was fish everywhere on the fish finder but they wouldn't take a thing. In fact I never got a report of anyone catching a fish today up there. But I will say it was a glorious day to be on the water. I even had to put my top up cause my dog needed some shade.

Roll Eyes Ratz,double ratzzz

Man I hate posting here, but I did get skunked on opening day at Crane......I am not sure why, these things happen. We gave it the full deal, fly fished, bottom fished, trolled, lure fished, bait fished and still only two take downs and no fish to the boat.. I did learn a lot over the weekend though, camping isn't all that bad when you have a self contained camper.....man was that cool. Like being at home but better, no yard work or phone calls.
The weather was perfect, maybe thats it....yea it was the great weather we had. I did manage to bring home a very nice sunburn, and I didn't break any thing.....the boat worked perfect and we only forgot two things, and managed to live without either. All in all it would have been perfect had I not had to post on this forum. Did take some pictures and would like to share a few.

Chuck

Got skunked today at JCP. And it's funny because yesterday I cought 8 trout and today (the same weather) - 0. May be all this "weather reading" thing is just BS?

Thumbs up Weather !?

It wasn't so much the weather as much as the pressure .....Just think of how many people were there the last couple days. The fish get spooked, at least that is what I was taught. When a body of water gets like that find another place for a while. Where fishing is concerned larger is much better, the fishing pressure is spread out more evenly. Even in boats, some times the people pressure is just to great, thats why naps were invented. Just my humble opinion.

I was Skunked on the Molalla river today... Gave up after about an hour and a half without a single bite.
I was using a "virgin" North River light action too, Not the way I prefer to break in a new rod..

Default For now we should call it JBean's thread....

Since I bet I have the highest percentage of skunking, I'm proposing we rename this thread.... Skunked at Hagg 2 weeks ago, then this weekend again, both at Hagg and at North Fork Res.

Default And I really smell now....

Well, it's true. Another skunking for me. I am either truly unlucky or really bad at fishing apparently. We went to Brietenbush River, out near Detroit res/lake. It was beautiful, I'll post pics later, really scenic, but NOTHING. Only a couple nibbles. I tried, worms, power bait, panther martins and roostertails. Got nibbles on all, but not one fish.

Post Hang in there

We have all posted on this forum and believe we will again. This is a particular tough time of year to fish....my best advice is to put all your free time into putting the boat on the water. They refer to it as a magic carpet for a reason.
Tight lines and good luck.
