This is how we become better anglers and excuse makers
ie: , the sun was in my eye, or my favorite, some one had gotten there first and taken my spot. This is a great forum, we get to see that we all get skunked during the year - this is why they call it fishing instead of catching. The point is you stand a 100% better chance of catching a fish on the shore than in you living room with the t.v remote in your hand. I bet you still had fun today !!!Chuck

What time where you there Obsessed? I was there from around 9:30 to 4. I was on the north shore and on the float with two of my friends. What did you use? I tried Roosters and other lures and power bait from the bottom. I might be there on weds as well.

I was there from 1:00 till about 3:30, half way down the East side. I tried using a boyant spoon and a couple different flue fox spinners.

This is getting to be a very bad habit, posting over here on this thread. I went up to the MFW at Hills creek this morning to do some fly fishing......perfect day for a skunk, rain, wind and cold. I actually saw a kitchen sink on a gravel bar, looks like some one else had a bad day also. Well I didn't fall down or get hurt so I can do it again tomorrow in honor of Presidents day. Maybe I will take my boat this time, much easier to get skunked while sitting on my butt than humping up and down stream

First time fishing in weeks and I smell of a small, striped rodent.
Chasing stocked brookies at EE Wilson, and not a single bite. The kids 10 feet downshore of me landed 2 in about 15 minutes. |

Might as well use the first post here to tell the truth for once! Went to Haag for opening day and trolled from darkness with at least ten other boats with running lights on 'till 10:00am without one hit. Was home by 11:00. Didn't see another boat land a fish either.
Changed the trout boat into a sturgeon boat and went with a friend to Vancouver Lake River for the rest of the day. We fished several different spots without a bite of any kind. Nice day though and LOTS of wildlife to pass the time. Eagles, herons, kingfishers, cormorants, egrets, geese, swans, and fish jumping all around. Have computer troubles right now so can't post pics. Maybe next time. So do I get a prize for two skunked fishing trips in one day? Or do I just smell worse than usual? ![]() |
