Judging from those white fin tips, it sure looks like it...

It shocked me when I saw that Brookie! I didn't know they planted any of those in the small ponds here in the valley. I love Brookies, I think they are the prettist fish, and have the best taste of any trout. I may just have to go down there sometime.

I decided to go to the McKenzie instead of the Willy, which I now regret-posting on this Thread is evidence of my trip. The water was in great shape and color, all I can say is it must have been me.........Not even a bump, but still it was fun, the possibility was there........oh well so be it. Did see a pair of River Otters playing near the large rocks on the west shore line. Sure put a smile on my face, the larger o the two didn't have a problem catching a fish....
Maybe next time will be my turn.Chuck

The McKenzie is a far more picturesque stream in my book success or not.

My daughter and I fished the trout pond at the sportsman show....air temp was around 60-70 degrees, water temp was unknown. We saw about 100-150 fish swiming around the edges. We had one take, but my daughter was slow on the set. ( I blame the 1 pc. 1/2-oz. cane pole)....or maybe cause she is 1 1/2 and is still learning the ropes. Saw a bunch caught though!!!!........
I am still not living down being skunked in the "kiddie trout pond" at the house.... ..... |

Skunked at W. Salish Pond. Saw two beutiful Brook trout landed, but I saw nothing else on my line nor anyone else's. Oh well. Conditions were fair to miserable, Had fun with some friends. They are stalking it this week with 750 of the large trout.

I spent a couple hours out at W. Salish today also, and I'm sorry to say that I came home reeking of skunk as well. The only fish I saw was a very sick/dying one right next to the bank. I'll probably be back on Wednesday to try and redeem myself.
