Default Blue Lake

Went to Blue Lake park today. Not even a nibble. I think we miss the a.m. bite. We had what was working for some people....(JT and company I mean you!!) But I got to see a really cute puppy and meet great new fisher folks.

Bad news was when we went to leave we see out car had been broken into. They smashed our rear passenger window, took nothing cause there wasn't anything worth anything, but now I have to deal with the crud and insurance etc. Hubby just got laid off a little over a week ago, now this, and all the skunking....Life can be cruel sometimes!!!

That's messed up. Goddamn thieves. That's one thing I detest is a thief. Well, I'm sure now your fishing will pick up. That would just be TOO cruel if it didn't eh?

Sad

I hope your right. I'm in the midst of a 'poor, why always, life sucks for me/us' episode at the moment. Need to get back on the optomistic side of the road. A few fish would help for sure!

Sad Leave gone wrong

I came home from leave in January of this year and my father in-law took a week off to take me fishing. He wanted to take me to the millicoma because of the style of the river. Before i got there the rain had flooded the rivers but we decided to go anyways. We live in eugene so it was almost a two hour drive just to get there. hopes were high but the river was higher. From 0700 til dark, cast after cast, nothing. The rain started to fall towards the end of the day and it summed up the day. A few day's later the rivers were still high and but we were determined to catch a steelie. We decided to try ten mile creek. It's a coastal river that is never really blown out but has just a small steelie run. Half way through the day we decided to try the millicoma again but again had no success. With over eight hours of driving and a spendy plane ticket for myself, my wife, and my kid, i headed back down to 29 palms california unsatisfied and dissapointed that another year went by in which i did not catch a winter steelie. Talk about a dissapointing vacation away from the marines!

Well fished Olalla today, didn't get a bite but man it was gorgeous. I mean awesome. I got a sunburn, that says enough. First one of the year! Saw some nice bass, too late of course but at least I know they are awake now.

Default Bethany Lake

With the weather being so nice this afternoon, I absolutely had to skip out of work early and despite not being stocked with trout this week I assumed that the bass, bluegill, and carp would be awake enough to entertain the family.

Unfortunately I was very wrong, the only sign of fish were the occasional trout jumping on the very farthest side of the lake along the backyards of all those houses. The only bite I got was from some ducks trying to steal my carp dough bait!

Other than that the whole area is incredibly kid friendly. So while I was having a miserable time soaking bait, my daughter was off making friends and generally have a great time so when all was said it was a great day.

I tossed some lures for an hour at Timber Linn last night with no luck. Just so nice out I had to do something!

Hey chris61182,

I was at Bethany Pond this Saturday. I got only one stocked trout. I expected good bites and went there early but i was disappointed. A guy told me that he got big carps there in the past which made me happy so one of those days I will go and try to get them. What did you use for carp bait
