Tried the Freeway lakes today and didn't get squat. The visibility was about an inch and a half from all the runoff. Fishing a bass jig with a Powerbait worm off the back really slow got me one strike but I missed it. Need to sharpen my hooks I think. I did gather up about 5 bundles of discarded line and found a nice shiny new Roostertail complete with a swivel so the trip wasn't a total skunk.

Default St. Louis Ponds

Totally skunked! Not even a tiny nibble. Never had tried these ponds, went today to see what it was like. Used various power baits, a worm, and a couple roosters, NOTHING. Not even a bite. Did get a bunch of greenery. Oh well. One more place checked out I guess.

Don't feel bad JBean! I went to the ponds yesterday and didn't get anything either. However, in addition to my share of greenery I also fell in the mud. See, now you can say that at least you didn't do that!

A little mud never hurt anyone Now, falling in a lake (fed by glacial runoff), that sucks. Especially when you have no excuse...I did not have a fish on and I was completely sober. Good times

You all make me smile, thanks! I suggest boots made for mud/water, but it is definately interesting in shape. 7 ponds all together not counting a couple just for dog training. I'll go back but not soon!

I tripped and fell backwards into the Alsea trying to crack a lame joke with a friend, with waders on, in the middle of November, and had no spare cloths (FOOL). Thankfully my buddies brother-in-law new the dangers of the great FREEZING river and always packed a spare set of fleece. That sucked.

Went to Foster Saturday, the weather was beautiful, the water felt warm to the touch, well at least compared to Green Peter from a few days prior, but sadly there were no fish to be had. I was fishing from the dam; tried drowning worms, spinners, lipless crank for bass, nothing produced.

And I thought I had heard there is a marina going in over by the new condos but there hadn't been any work started or anywhere that it looked like a marina could go.

Next time your trying your luck at Foster try where the North fork of the Santiam meets the lake, it can be very productive.....bobber and a night crawler or float a marshmallow and worm off the bottom. Good luck and tight lines.

Do you mean the south fork or the middle fork? I always see people fishing the south fork with kids when I'm on my way to Green Peter, so I assume the access is good and there aren't too many steep inclines. I've never seen too many people down on the bank of the middle fork, and it always looks like they've gotten there by boat.

And so you say a crawler under a bobber, how deep would you recommend?
