Default Can't belive I'm on here

Well, I made it, the skunk thread was waiting for me, was hoping it would be later than sooner. I guess everyone has there not so great days on the water. I went to Dexter this morning at sun up with my Boat, now legal in Oregon thank you very much....
I trolled around the entire lake up and down the center, along the sides, followed channels, in deep water, in shallow water, but not a fish. Very few fish even on my depth finder too. Should have gone to Hills Creek. Although the weather was a bit on the chilly side I did manage to really enjoy myself on the water. I had enough clothes on to keep and entire family warm. It was a pleasure being the only soul on the lake, just wished I could have landed something, a twig, anything would have been nice!

This ones a bit late but another steelie trip ends in a skunking.
I went to the nicanicum with Zeeborn(Nate) 2 weekends ago i think the site was down when we went so that gives you some idea. We got a early start and first cast with a spinner i felt it tap bottom them thwack head shake but i missed it i was disappointed was not expecting that on my first cast. Then Zeeborn got a small trout on his fly rod and a seal swam threw so we moved on. The water was to fast for me to jig fish in almost any of the holes so i drifted corkies and i drifted spinners mostly. About half way into the day after talking to a flyfisherman who lost one Zeeborn got one! he did a perfect cast right over it in shallow water and it was cold it did not want to more and just kinda sat until he got it nice and close to the bank then it slowly went up stream i tryed to get it to run back down away from the bushs up stream and to tail it out for him but then it came to life and charged me it knocked me over as i was trying to get out of its way. It headed strait for the bushs and i knew it was going to get in unless we did something he couldn't control it. It was a good 10 pound or so buck and this was on a fly rod. I got up behind it not 6 inches from the bushes and tryed to tail it again i had it and then. NOOOO IT SLIPED and broke the leader. I'm so sorry about that Nate. We then hiked all over to some wonderful water and did not get anymore hits or take i got a hole in my waders but that's about it. I still had a awesome time thanks for the company and the ride Nate.

Sad Bad Day at Walter Wirth

Went to the local pond today to try for a brooder, or anything else for that matter. Sat through the intermittent showers for 3 hours without a nibble, regardless of my arsenal. I didn't see much other action around me until about two o'clock, when I finally saw one lucky man land a brooder, and another land a small stocker. I will be out again to try on Tuesday.

I wrote my report over in the salt water board in hopes of bringing some life to it, but I'm going to go ahead and cross-post my skunk report here as well.

Default Many Skunks

Well, the last three times I've gone trying to catch my first steelie, not a nibble. Twice on the Clack, once at Eagle Creek.
