    Default Cleanup

    Hello from Project Wilderness,

    We're an Oregon nonprofit founded in 2009, and we're looking for some input from the people that will know best!

    To give you a basic idea about us here is our mission statement;
    Project Wilderness works to improve our nation's public forests, return declining wildlife to healthy populations, offers free educational programs and purchase private lands opening them to the public.
    Please provide input on fishing spots and/or camping areas that are in need of cleanup and maintenance.

    Your input will greatly aid us in determining priority of our projects.

    Dorman Pond about 8 miles West of Banks! That place is filthy and no one seems to be cleaning it. I have taken bags and bags of garbage out of there with no improvement.

    I think every popular fishing hole is need of a cleanup. But time would be well spent in September/October cleaning up around the Ceder Creek Fish Hatchery on the Sandy River, and pretty much anywhere along the stretches of Eagle Creek (Clackamas County), especially around Bonnie Lure park. Seems like that time of year brings out the litter bugs among other things.

    I echo Fishtophers recommendations for Eagle and Cedar creeks, both are perennial trash trouble spots.

    meldrum, below bonneville, cross, riverside, carver, eagle fern, ect ect.. pretty much every heavy traffic area has a big problem with this.
    On slow days I always wander around picking up crap.

    wherever there's good fishing, there's crap all over the ground, it's sad really that people are so lazy with a lack of respect for the resource they enjoy using. The siuslaw along Stagecoach Rd is super bad...it's downright disgusting. I have gotten into the habit of taking a 40 gallon garbage bag everytime I go out there to pick crap up, It comes home full everytime, and it doesn't look like it's any cleaner when I leave.
