Default Lamprey in Hagg!?

As the title says, except I found them just a few hundred yards up one of the three major tributaries. I'm far from an expert when it comes to eels or lamprey, anyone know what they are?

And there will be videos shortly as well.

The same thought crossed my mind, but it looks like the regs say no using lamprey for bait. Under Gear and Bait Restrictions (pg 7): "4. It is unlawful to use lamprey as bait in any recreational fishery."

But yeah watching them in the river I would think the big trout and bass would go just absolutely nuts over those things too!

Fortunately...
1.) we have opposable thumbs (for removing the little buggers)
2.) not all species of lamprey are parasitic (with river lamprey being non-parasitic)

Yes I think those are saltwater lamprey creepy buggers. I do not think that the trout and bass population would feed on them but i am not sure. The crazy part is were they were found in HAGG!!! Thats crazy I have seen them on the wilson but never so many.

-cheers

See them alot in the Willamette. Also you can see them in viewing windows at Bonneville's fish ladder. Ours are not harmful. The ones you have pictures of are from the upper Midwest/Great Lakes region and those are terribly invasive.
