So...let me get this straight... you won't be buying my squawfish? Is that what you are trying to say here?

Obviously! If you want to catch some trout for me that is a different story. Pikeminnow... Teargas is a good example.

Hahaha. I left a bucket of squawfish on the boat for a couple days in the hot sun last year after a day of crabbing.. that was pretty brutal.. I hate to admit I can understand the teargas comment.

[quote=willfishforfood;7547]Try this. 3 parts Kosher salt, 3 parts sugar (dark brown sugar for the most flavor,) 1 part chili powder and 1 part mix of whatever you want, I like onion, garlic, mustard, dried herbs and cayenne mixed to equal 1 part.

Best Rub EVER....!! I have tryed this and it is good on ANYTHING....even Breakfast.

Oh baby I just smoked some trout (the larger pieces are just finishing up now) and the pieces that were done early are no more Oh that is some good stuff. I brined for 24 hours in 3/4 cup of kosher salt, one cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of white sugar, and a good helping of a McCormick fish rub that has red pepper, black pepper, garlic, onion, tomato, lemon peel and red bell pepper. Used a whole bag of chips (half a bag of alder and half a bag of mesquite) along with a whole bag of Jack Daniels pellets. Yes ladies and gents they save the coal they use to distill the whiskey, reform it into pellets and sell it for smoking. It turned out SOO good oh man. Next time I will use 2 cups of brown sugar. I meant to this time but I messed up haha. Still turned out great though. I can't imagine how hungry the neighbors are. I mean I smoked the heck out of these fish only the second time using it and the temp gauge is unreadable hahaha but it was worth it!
Anyone who smokes should try the JD pellets!
