Mad Kicked off ifish

Hey everyone!!! I just got kicked off ifish for calling a guy out who stated that he kills every bass he catches because they are invasive species that threaten his natives.

The moderator suspended me for chiding another member. After trying to discuss it with the brown-shirt Nazi, I told them that I was going to tell others about their viewpoint discrimination policies. At which time they said I was making threats, and they banned me.

Damn I hate facists. I hope that this site doesn't evolve in the same manner. Killing any animal for selfish reasons is moraly and ethically wrong. I don't even sign in or chime in on that site. It should be about fishing and not about political and personal agenda. Censorship, here are some quotes to ponder over.

"The fact is that censorship always defeats its own purpose, for it creates, in the end, the kind of society that is incapable of exercising real discretion." ~Henry Steele Commager-American Historian
I also see this a good fit:
Freedom of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one. ~Abbott Joseph Liebling, New Yorker, 4 May 1960
This one too!
Think for yourselves and let others enjoy the privilege to do so, too. ~Voltaire

Oh well, to each their own. I just decided to let it go and let them enjoy their fourth reich mentality. Besides, I have more friends here and at my Washington site. Disagreements may occur, but eventually mutual respect and comradiere will always prevail.

However, I would like to see their sponsors come this way. Perhaps I will talk to people when I go shopping...at Fishermen's Marine...or other businesses that sponsor them.

Thumbs up

I wouldn't worry about this site evolving in the same manner as some other fishing boards. For some reason we seem to be a much more understanding, helpful and tollerant group.

Well, I am glad that you stuck up for the bass. How dare someone assign himself/herself the role of supreme authority. How does a forum ban someone for expressing his/her opinion (in a non-violent/threatening manner)? Isn't that what a "forum" is all about? Oh well, at least our moderators understand

I agree there probably isn't much to worry about, at least so far. Not only are we more understanding, helpful, and tolerant, I think we're all a fair amount more relaxed and just looking to enjoy our common hobby (or vice depending on how you look at it ).

Though I have to admit, it's pretty hard to avoid politics when talking about salmon/steelhead in the PNW. So maybe the other reason we don't seem to have nearly so many problems is the main focus here so far are the more abundant and conflict free fish like bass and trout.

And with that said, here's some conflict for you , all you guys who have gotten out fishing during all this beautiful weather as of lately suck ! I'm buried under school work, have no real end in sight, and have had to sit inside watching beautiful day after beautiful day slip by! Ok, that's the worst I can muster.

You think it's the worst scenario? I spent almost 3 months in the middle of India. The weather is warm and sunny every day (there was no rain at all), I have a ton of free time. But the nearest place where I can fish is 2 hours away. BY PLANE!!!

So I've never been to India, but it seems like the entire country is ringed by coastal rivers, probably not much unlike the Oregon's coast. I assume you're in the interior somewhere?

I feel ya on the school work. I am in the final phase of my Senior year at PSU. What a drag it gets to be after so long. I still find time to fish though as I don't have to venture to far. Spring break is near and Summer draws closer. I also fish with a bell and read my homework while fishing. Good luck this term!

I can't wait for Spring Break. I have a feeling that I will be taking summer classes. Even though I really want to finish as soon as possible, I am hoping that I am short a credit, so that I have an excuse to take a fishing PE class.
