Mad iFish

I visited ifish the other day and thought it way pretty cool. A lot like this one, or maybe this one is a lot like that one. Either way I like this site better. The other one seems more like a braggers blog. They mocked our skunk thread! Like they don't get skunked! Not all members though as I noticed some of our members on there as well. It seems to be selling a lot of product as well. Berkley BS and what not. Post what you think about it. I don't hate it just prefer our OR FF.
Out,
JT

Exclamation Ifish

I used to post there, I found it to be more sarcastic and corporate for my taste. The Administrator and the mods seemed to me to be to preachy, if you didn't agree with their agenda or if you disagree with them ..... lets just say they would scold you. I like the help here, everyone seems to be more helpful and willing to share. I still lurk there I just don't post or join in, the advertising spots here also seem to be more in line with my love for the sport of angling. Again, this is just my opinion. Long live OFF.

I too, prefer this site. I have yet to see any rude or inflamatory posts on OFF, something that I cannot say about ifish without lying through my teeth.

I'm a member of Ifish also. Didn't visit it for a long time though. I posted there some time ago, and didn't find that the members there are rood. Opposite, I got a lot of friendly hints and advice from the members.

Both forums run on the same software - Vbulletin, that's why they look the same And yes, "this one is a lot like that one" is a proper way to say. iFIsh is online for years, OR FF - months.

About some people mocking something. Well, that's what we call "freedom of speach". Anyone has rights to have his/her own opinion and expressing it. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Being the administrator of another forum for about 4 years, I found out one interesting thing. 99.9% of any forum members post with the purpose to learn something or to help another one to learn something. But there is 0.1% on avery forum, doesn't matter what is the topic of the forum - fishing, dancing, web development. Their purpose is different. They don't need to learn anything, because they believe that they know everything. And they have no time to help another one to learn something, because they are too busy showing to other members their "authority". That's their purpose. And usually it's accompanied with throwing sh*t all around.

P.S. what is the url of the thread on iFish you mentioned? I'd like to read too

I would give the thread that sent me packing but they deleted it, not only did they delete it but sent pm's to all the members that participated in the thread, with derogatory remarks.
Enough said.....we now have OFF.

Thanks for the input. I was just wonderin what you guys thought about the site. I can't find the URL of the thread on there. I know it was in the Trout section. It wasn't a terrible remark, just a little rude and had what I thought to be implied slander or

I posted a thread on ifish and got nothing but flack from most of the others on there. They basically called me a liar, or thought I was not smart enough to distinguish fish species. I haven't been back. The only good thing that happened to me on that site was I was reconnected to a childhood friend I hadn't seen for 30 yrs.

Default ifish

It is a hard site to get around on , and you need secret passwords
and hand shakes to get on that thing , the fishing reports are unreliable and geared to sell stuff . This site is the cats meow !

I hate to bring up an old nasty thread like this but I've just gotta vent!!! Less than a week ago I used their little 'alert' system to bring some threats against other anglers to a moderators attention. They ignored it, and when I pushed the issue a little further I basically just got the finger.

Now I see today they have a call for action to help make ifish "look better" with respect to the gillnet issue, because threats against gillnetters make the site look bad. Geez, more than willing to take action when it affects the site's image and potentially advertiser funding. Talk about corporate and politics!

Ahh yes, derogatory remarks from mods/admins?! I bet I could guess in one try which one that was!!! Though to be fair there are a couple of really great admins over there as well.

I've also seen posted there that they ban people for posting negative things about it on other sites, well if they do ban me I probably won't complain too much. It'll just break an addiction that I can't on my own.
