10' Pontoon
I picked up a pontoon boat and the oars I have are a bit to small in diameter for the oar locks that came with the boat. I have seen some sort of spacer attachments you can install on your oars to keep them from slipping out of the locks. I was wondering if I should just get larger diameter oars or rope up the diameter of the existing oar. Just need some help from someone that has already climbed the experience curve. Thanks for any help.

Do you mean this collar gizmo?
Scroll about halfway down this page to "Plastic oar collar" Boats,Engines & Accessories > Oars & Paddles - Bosun's Locker - Chandlery It seems like I've used these all my life- my oars have always had a smaller diameter shaft that the oarlocks on the boat. Slip these in the hole and the oars fit in them perfectly. They seem to work great. |
