Default North Fork Res.

Went to NFR with two friends yesterday the banks were loaded with people but we managed to get a decent spot. We had lots of bites but the Trout were not as aggressive as I have seen them there in the past we took home three. I was hoping for more in that my buddies don't get to fish very often. Oh well that is fishing. No pics forgot the cam. Nice day and cold beer made it all worth while.

This is a nice place, but a little bigger than I like them. Man I need a boat... when I get one I am off to Henry Hagg for BASS baby

I have free access to a boat whenever I want, and I live close to Hagg, but never fished there. Have always had luck at NFR, but never fished from a boat. Is it really that much better to fish from a boat at NFR?

I have done well there without a boat. Limited out plenty of times from the shore along the road.

Yeah, I'd have to say that North Fork is one of the better spots to limit out on hatchery trout. Last summer I could easily limit out in about an hour and a half. Fun place!

North Fork is a great place to fish after its stocked, its not open to fishing until the end of may, and i have already seen people fishing off the bank, even if u dont get caught, there is no fish 4 u to catch

I saw the state police writing tickets about 3 weeks ago I kind of pisses me off to see a disregard for fish and game laws but fish and game laws can be confusing for some. North fork is great and I am planning on being up there alot this summer because its the closest lake to me

It is too bad they close it. It would be a great year round stocking lake. I don't think it gets too much snow up there. I have had some great times at that lake. All from the bank. I can't wait to hit it again.

that is one of the few lakes where u can nail em off the bank, but is challenging off a boat. but they close it for a number of reasons besides snow. there are native steelhead and salmon movin on through and they try to wait until the water temp. gets warm enough to support the hatchery trout... but faraday lake is open all year, its just that they dont stock it until they stock north fork anyways
