It must be the little side lake because it is before the boat launch! Hmm i might have to check that out... Now is that the same as North Fork on the open day?

I suggest to wait until the 26th. It doesn't actually specify in the regulations though.

if you launch at promontory and go downstream you can take a boat through the tunnel into that side lake.

the little side lake in north fork opens the same time as the main lake, and for trollin. id suggest harriet until the snow melts off some of the higher lakes.

had some good fishing today at NFR from the banks. Walked a ways down from the boat launch and picked a nice spot under a few trees to give us a break from the rain. Brought in 9 trout in less than 4 hours. Hit real fast in the first and fouth hours with a small lull inbetween

Nice what did you get them on? How was the truck and trailer parking? How many boats out there today? Sounds like you did good

Nice job! Doesn't that feel great after an extended skunk?

You called it Graphite, very nice. The first one came within 5 minutes, and the second was 2 minutes after that... Just a bit too excited at that point, I never wanted to leave.

They were hitting everything. Used good ol' pautzkies for most of the day. And made the switch to chartreuse & pink powerbait to close the last hour. A couple of the fish brought in had gear in their mouths - one was leader + swivel (check your knots!) and the second was leader. One of those had a chartreuse power egg still hanging from the hook. The trollers had some luck and in the limited view I had of the lake (trees all around me) i saw at least 3 fish pulled in on a variety of gear...

It was my first time ever at NFR, but from what I'd say was that there was a fair enough boats on the water. When we got there around 7, there was only one. But by the time we left there was probably 20 or so on the water. The parking lot was only half full, so i'm assuming there's a second place to launch
