    First time to the Owyhee

So, the Oyhee was blowing 25 with gusts to 50 so went to plan B. Went to the Metolius for the week with a couple side trips to the Middle Deschutes. Awesome trip!! Fished 7 days total, caught a few on the Metolius and more on the Deschutes. Perfect weather (mostly) and great scenery!!

    Willamette smallies

Gonna have some time to go the Willamette for some bass from the 'yak in the next week or 2 and looking for some ideas. I was thinking Canby/Wilsonville but haven't had put a boat in there. Any recommendations would be great!! I live in Hillsboro if that helps at all. Thanks for your input!

    First time to the Owyhee

Starting my 10 day trout bum trip with a trip to the Owyhee on Sunday and I'm looking for bug\pattern recommendations. Love wets and nymphs but open to anything, I'm not picky. The tying stuff will be making the trip so adaptations can be made... Thanks for any input!

    Old vintage patterns

If you're looking for old patterns in general, check out Carrie G. Stevens. Very interesting woman. Invented the Grey Ghost. Tied her flies in the back woods of Maine with...a finger vise. Not Salmon/Steelhead flies but very early American fly tying legend.

Look at the size of this hook (tiny)

Believe it or not... Believe it or not... There are some guys on the Farmington River here in Ct that use the 32s for midge patterns...dry that is. There are 2 other hatches that require (if you listen to them) at least a 28. BWO in November and Tricos in Aug. Me, I'd rather fish under water...
