Teach me the art of jig head drifting

God f**ing dammit Last week I replaced the braided line on my spool with fluoro for spooning, and this week I'm rigging my gear for float drifting... The worst part is that I dumped the braided into the trash can 'cause I was very pissed atm...

Teach me the art of jig head drifting

Ok, got my sliding bobber and jig heads. Do I have to "dead drift," not applying any kind of pulling action whatsoever?? Or do I give it some action to make the jig look more alive? Where I fish is mild to moderate current, with very little ripple or no ripple when the flow is slow. Thank you

Help! Fall came, and trouts are gone ;(

Man, it's really frustrating. I haven't had a single bite for three days. I thought too, that fish stick closer to shore when the water is high and turbidity turns up, but there's no sign of fish near the river banks where I fish. Where I fish is mostly slow to moderate current; could it be that...

Help! Fall came, and trouts are gone ;(

I cast light lures at the Willamette near UO and I had no problem catching some cute-sized fish on river banks. But with this change in temperature and water level, all the fish seem to be gone or hidden. I struggle to get a single bite at the very spot I used to catch fish in the summer. What...

    My first trout!

Thx! Actually i caught another similar sized trout, then had another bite which I failed to hook up. And the last one came chasing my spoon all the way until it saw my rod tip and ran away. These fellas are tiny but do they fight! They jump like miniature tarpon or sailfish. I'm worried that...

    My first trout!

Actually not first in my life, but first since I arrived in Oregon 2.5 months ago. I replaced the treble hooks with Gamakatsu #4 siwash hooks, but they seem a bit too large for the fish here. Gonna try out both #6 and #8, and see which one works out the best. I think the size of my catches are...

Hello, a newcomer question - any good spot in Eugene?

On which side of the river did you get bites? I have once fished under the bicycle bridge on the ABC side of the river, but had no bites even though the spot looked promising.

Hello, a newcomer question - any good spot in Eugene?

I'm a student too! And oh yes, I've been there. Also saw a couple of anglers too. I casted a spinner under the big bridge but eventually got snagged and lost it... I will definitely try that spot again.

For salmonids - spinner vs. spoon vs. crankbait?

You mean a spinner with heavier blade would actually get less snags?

For salmonids - spinner vs. spoon vs. crankbait?

Any trout/steelie would do for me:) In fact i doubt i can haul in a proper sized salmon with my ultralight tackle.

Hello, a newcomer question - any good spot in Eugene?

I havent been to the canal because i like the atmosphere of river fishing... well i guess im not desperate enough. Had some success at ABC 11 years ago, though.

For salmonids - spinner vs. spoon vs. crankbait?

Hello, i've been in pursuit of trout/steelies in the Willamette in Eugene for past few weeks and actually this is my first attempt to catch a wild salmonid. I've used size #0 or #1 spinners, but they tend to sink faster that i'd like in shallow water when i'm retrieving them slow and get...

Hello, a newcomer question - any good spot in Eugene?

Hi, i arrived at Eugene about a 2 months ago, and now i've got my gears and license(insanely pricey for non-res). The thing is, i don't have a car here so i'm pretty much stuck near UO campus where i live. Can you recommend some nice spots for Willamette salmonids in Eugene? Or... is there any...
