    East Lake 2013

Because that is where the insect hatches occur, especially early in the year. I fish East a lot and there are always a lot fly fishermen near the hot springs.

Of course it was released,no reason to think otherwise.

    East Lake reports?

Scent was Kokanee Special and sweet corn, mostly Kokanee special. Also use Fire Corn on the hooks. Personally I don't think the type of scent really matters as long as it masks your scent.

    East Lake reports?

The Koks averaged about 12-13", the red ones were quite a bit larger. Here are a few pictures of some fish other than Koks. This is my lunker Brown, it measured 8.25lbs on my boga, so it is an honest 8lber.Caught on an RMT watermelon doger/apex. A couple of nice Atlantics, one caught on...

    East Lake reports?

I just got back last night from East Lake. Spent the last 2 weeks fishing the lake. Many chrome Koks to be had. I caught about 150 and only about 25% were starting to turn red. Yes, there are some green headed fish, but plenty of chrome to go around. In addition, landed an 8.25lb Brown, 4lb...

How much money needed to satisfy your fishing needs?

Those fish are Kings. If they were Silvers, they would be world record class for sure. The Kings on Lake Creek average 35 pounds.

How much money needed to satisfy your fishing needs?

I bought the cat in Sisters, Oregon from Fish Craft in 2000. While I have floated many rivers in Oregon and N. Calif., its main purpose was to float Alaskan rivers. I have shipped it to Alaska 8 times. We usually float a chosen river for 30 days. I usually load it up with over 2000lbs. of gear...

How much money needed to satisfy your fishing needs?

I hate to admit it, but in the last few years I have spent over $200k just so I could go fishing. I bought this truck and camper in June, bought the boat in 2008. I got the cat in 2000. Got this drift boat in 2004. Bought half interest in this house in Sun River last year. Built this barn...

    Framed raft vs drift boat?

I use a Clacka craft on the milder rivers. My Fish Craft cat excels at load carrying and fast class 3+ rivers. The cat is harder to pull plugs with,no chines and the cat is much harder to slow down. The cat is much heavier, nearly impossible to flip, and you don't have to worry about rocks...

    Drift boat questions

I have to disagree with nearly everything you have said regarding glass boats, particularly Clackacraft glass boats. I have owned and rowed drift boats since the 70's, Alumnawelds and Willies. In 2004 I bought a 16'x57" Clackacraft, 15'10" centerline and 17'4' to the gunwales. Weight 285lbs...

First time using braided line ... just a few questions.

Ninja2010 is right on point. I will add that when you spool braid, use a few yards of mono on the spool, then tie the braid to the mono. The mono will stick to the spool. Braid can and will slip on the spool because it is so slick. There are braided lines that are specfically made for spinning...

    Minn Kota trolling motor question.

Get back the power drive and buy the co-pilot remote control and throw the foot control overboard. You wear the co pilot like a wrist watch and can control the motor from anywhere in the boat.

    Drift boat questions

My 16', Salmon/Steelhead guide model, with a 57" bottom, 17'4" from gunwale to gunwale, 15'10' centerline weighs 285lbs base weight. The equivalent Willie boat, which has a 3" narrower bottom, 6" shorter centerline, is at least 100 if not 150 lbs heavier. We probably get more rain than most of...

    Drift boat questions

Check out a glass boat such as a Clackacraft. I rowed aluminum boats for over 30 years and when I bought a Clackacraft in 2004, I wondered why I had been abusing my self all those years. The Clackacraft is much lighter, has a shallower draft, tunnel hull, which makes rowing much easier, it is...
