    Sling blades and dodgers.

The main difference between the sling blade and other types of dodgers is they can be trolled at higher speeds before rolling.

    Paulina Lake

I talked to the forest service a few weeks ago. They said there's still snow down to the 10 mile gate and the lake it still froze over. We've had some snow since then, so I'd be real surprised if it would be accessible for opening weekend.

    Ochoco Report 5/8

Ochoco...Fri 5/15 Ochoco...Fri 5/15 Slow day. Got 4 fat rainbow's between 14-17". Water still murky, but not as bad as last week. All caught on spinners with dodgers useing downriggers. Middle of lake most productive. Dodger's smeared with pro-cure carp spit scent.

    Ochoco Report 5/8

Yep, it's murky...a lot of runoff filling up the reservoir right now. I only fish it early season, so I couldn't tell ya if it ever clears up. Going back in a couple days. Standby for updated report...

    Painted Buzz Bombs

I do! I use powder paint and vinyl lure and jig paint. I then add holographic, holoform, glow, and uv tapes. Some have glitter added. Most are poured from a lead casting, and other shapes are made from crescent weights. The jigs I make are to target kokanee and are minnow shaped in 1/4 oz...

    Ochoco Report 5/8

I've also heard that the crappie were good size at Ochoco. I mainly troll with downriggers, and am just waiting for the high lakes to thaw for chasing kokanee.

    Ochoco Report 5/8

Fished Ochoco twice in the last couple weeks. So far the fishing has been on the slow side, but managed a few each between my Dad and I both times out. We've been useing the downriggers, and getting some nice size...14-18". We have yet to see another net out. Other than some cat fish remains at...

    Help/Looking for squid skirt

Tubes are very popular for kokanee! The Radical Glow Tubes are one of the best. Like hoochies, use a heavy leader to transmit more action from the dodger. A leader length of 8-10" works the best.

    Open??

I posted a recent report (5/1/09) on access to Paulina Lake on the kokanee forum. From the looks of things, I think it might be a few weeks...Paulina is about a third froze over on the West end, and the main road is blocked at the turnoff to the resort. There's around 3 feet of snow still at the...

    Paulina Lake

Paulina Lake access report 5/1/09 Paulina Lake access report 5/1/09 About a third of the lake is still iced over on the West end. There's a channel through to open water. The only launch open is at the resort, and the dock had a trail down the middle through the snow. The main road is blocked...

    Trout Unlimited pontoon 7 ft!?

I had a sheriff from the marine patrol come out to the house to check out my toon...I guess he had to verify that it didn't come with hull numbers like most boats do. He measured the length and issued me the hull numbers and did the paperwork so that I could be registered. I then had to engrave...

    jigging for kokes??

a lot of kokanee fishermen use the black box. I installed it on the boat a couple years back, and it does work (useing a short set-back when trolling.) I've been skeptical on trying it while jigging though...don't need a koke wrapped up around the wire!

    jigging for kokes??

The Pro Troll web site mentions useing the black box while jiiging and still fishing to attract fish under the boat. Has anyone tried this?
