    Alton Baker trout fishing

I'm trying to not get pessimistic too quickly, but I'm not having much luck there either. I've gone down there three times in the last month, and tried just about everything without getting a single bite. I have also not seen anyone else pull a single fish out yet....

    delta ponds continue to impress

I think I saw you guys this morning on my way to drop the kid off at daycare. Two guys fishing in a blue boat the size of a big bathtub, correct? I was on the way to work and seriously jealous :D

    /Fern Ridge/ 4/7/09

If it's the area I'm thinking of, the signs say "no boats with motors" on the south side of the highway/railroad. It's oars or kick fins only....

Expensive reels. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just to update... I did go with the Okuma for a couple of reasons: 1- I took the fly fishing class and already shelled out for a really nice 5wt outfit. between that, the course fee, flies, etc there just wasn't enough in the budget for a second expensive reel...

Expensive reels. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the replies guys. It seems like the Okuma is going to cover all of the bases. Irishrover- Jeez man, you'd fit right in on the Irish side of my family  If it's all the same to you, I'll grab some Killians Red or a pint of Guinness. That Red Breast is like drain cleaner

Expensive reels. Am I missing something?

So I have a beautiful custom made 7/8 weight 10' rod that I traded an OFF member for. I had it professionally re-wrapped, and now want to use it to chuck flies for Bass and some Steelhead. I understand the value of a good fly rod, but the expensive reels don't seem as important. I'm looking at...

    Alton Baker trout fishing

Where do you guys park to access the AB canal. I'm like five minutes away and have been meaning to give it a shot. In fact, I would appreciate any info that anyone has on the entire Alton Baker area as far as fishing opportunities. It's close to me, looks fishy and I never see many anglers...

Very, Very, Very Short day on the eagle...

It seemed to be a problem when I lived in Salem, and would fish the stocked trout ponds. I had my license checked probably 9 out of 10 times I fished them. I also saw someone trying to run away, pull thier rod out and/or getting ticketed almost every time. The offenders seemed to fit a certain...

Welcome and thanks for the pics and fishing report. My wife and I, along with our son are also recent residents of Eugene. We escaped from New York. Hope to catch you out on the water sometime! Scott

    Romper room...

Sounds good Cascade, and I also got your PM, so keep me posted on that. Looking at my river map, there appears to be a DB/Toon launch just upriver from that area called Pengra Access and a takeout at Jasper bridge. Does that sound about right? When the rain/weather settle down a bit, I'm up...

    Romper room...

You rule Chuck. Assuming that I may have a pontoon for this ;) Is a shuttle required for this float, and is there someplace in the area that does them? Also, how hard of a float is it? I'd be interested if anyone wants to try this with me so we have a couple of vehicles to manage the...
