    Bass/cats near Albany/Salem?

Freeway lakes has some big bass and good size catfish. Go to the back pond the big one. That's where I've caught mine there.

    Wilson steelhead advice

Try adding a night crawler with the bead. I had very good success last year on the Wilson in low clear water using that setup. Also don't hesitate to try a small corky with yarn either. Both methods were drift fishing.

    Marion Lake

Fish seem to be close to the surface in the morning and then deeper later in the day. The lake is deep. Slow retrieve works for me with the kastmasters.

    Marion Lake

I bank fish every time I go and have very great success. I use kastmasters and corky's with a night crawler off the bottom. Loop the line through the corky so it doesn't slide up and down your line. I've seen people catching trout with powerbait but have never tried it. I have more luck on...

    Getting out on my own.

Bobber and jigs work great for winters. The nightmare pattern killed it last winter. And those look like they will work. It's all about how you present it. You want a natural drift. To fast or to slow will most likely make them not want it.

    Getting out on my own.

Bobber a jigs works well. Also try drift fishing corky's with yarn. Caught my biggest winter steelhead last year on the Wilson drift fishing yarn and corky combo. For salmon, egg shrimp combo drift fishing and bobber fishing.

    North Santiam steelhead

Like what BG said keep at it. It's still early in the season. I haven't touched a steelhead on this river since the beginning of the month and I go 2 to 3 times a week. With the warmer weather moving in, so will the fish.
