    I realize this is a delayed response but: the "powers that be" took out the lower irrigation dam. (it was kind of smallish) but it did change the flow of that area of the river... (however, the river's levels are quite low now & the weather has brought in fishing folks from all over the place...

    Smith Rock State Park

    That portion of the Crooked River is s l o w e r & deeper than the upper portion (Bowman Dam down to mile post 11). There are white fish but that's where you'll find trout that will take a dry fly. It's also quite pretty.
