Float and herring fishing off north jetty....any thoughts?

I was thinking about going jetty fishing for salmon (coho/ Chinook) after the 15th. Any thoughts on float and herring fishing? What else should I try?

    Skunked again

Oregon30... I've been skunked plenty but still I hit my rivers hard. They don't call this beautiful thing we do catching fish. You win some and almost always will lose. Steelhead fishing is the hardest fishing there is. Keep your head up...your time will come but only if you drop that can't do...

Any luck last couple days on the Siuslaw?

Thinking about heading to either the lower siuslaw, upper siuslaw or lake creek for steelies. Anyone doing any good or knows of fish being caught in numbers?

    Awesome looking week to come!

Anybody hit up the slaw or planning on it soon? Is the water still brown or green now?

Why don't you tie a swivel to the end of pre-tied leader rigs?

I think not having a swivel is kinda cool I myself use them but might give this a try. I think me luvtrout was trying to give everyone a new perspective... Works for me I'll try it see if its something worth changing to. Thanks for that meluvtrout.

    Steelhead reports?

I too went this morning and hit the slaw closer to mapleton. Nothing saw a couple fish roll. Water was awesome but the scattered showers ended up being a monsoon. Started at 9:30 ended 1:30 soaking wet would've stayed all day but needed sleep before work. Might try again this morning up siuslaw...

    Awesome looking week to come!

Why is that even when you know what to expect when you hook a fish and have been fishing for years and years that when you make a plan to go fishing the night before I always seem to be excited and nervous like a little kid.... I love it! Does anyone get that as well?
