    Oregon steelhead fishing (2010 - 2021)

Got a nice brat tonight after more than 2 weeks of lost fish. Starting after the 4th when we had that little "Summer miracle" I moved every last scheduling conflict around I could swing. Every day I was out I lost 3-6 fish. Broken hooks, broken leaders, broken rods, hot fish (can't fix that)...

Please be polite. If you are at the hatchery by all means jump on in. There is a ton on of literature on steelhead ettiquette online. A lot of folks are facing a bad reputation. Stop low-holing starts at home! Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

    Oregon steelhead fishing (2010 - 2021)

Also fun to find one during the madness on the 4th while the wives were swimming around and the dog was chasing her stick in the drift all afternoon. Last cast fish. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

    Oregon steelhead fishing (2010 - 2021)

It has been nice to see the fishing pick up to a little more like normal after the the last two years of disappointment. Lots of double digit hookup days until the rubber hatched and put them down. Also nice to see BIG fish all year. 20 fish in the 30 inch class and a lot more around 27 or 28...

    Sandy or Clack in June?

Sandy should be fishing great. Lower water temp and a little bit of color. Its in the sweet spot still temp-wise. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

    A better method than TIP?

It may be an unfortunate reality but they seem understaffed. I reported a poached deer that someone left the skin on the boat ramp and was told they would take care of it and follow up with me. The carc sat on the boatramp for a week until someone threw it in the water. Sent from my SM-G920P...

    Keeping sturgeon off

Depth is relative as well. During the harvest era of past, most fish were caught in the estuary in 10-30 fow Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

    Keeping sturgeon off

The fact that you are asking tells us your heart is in th right place. Beyond that the use of barbless hooks and gear that is heavy enough the land them is the next best bet. Sturgeon are very hardy fish. Known to live for many hours out of water but you have your head in the right place...

    Sturgeon at Henry Hagg Lake?

Ive always wondered about a fish i lost 3 years ago while the willamette was blown out in may. Had some friends in from out of town who came to fish and it was our only option. Trout are so far off my radar that we had to use steelhead gear and I hooked up on a 9'0 rod with 10lb leader and was...

Last 2 days on the Clack!

The swing hatch went into full effect yesterday. Had to have multiple conversations about appropriate ettiquette and everyone seemed perceptive. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

    Springers, Meldrum Bar,McIver

Its terrible. Drive over tbe 205 bridge any day in may and you will normally see a hundred boats. Chances are the 13 boats fishing today lost their only hookups to pinnipeds. Be careful in the clack because they were in a lot of holes up to just below carver last week. Sent from my SM-G920P...

    Clackamas springers

I wish you were right. It was a very long adipose with the back half detached from the body and my finger was slightly under ther fin. That fish is still swimming. Glad to have those genes in the river. I hooked him at about 9 o'clock through the swing in too shallow and too fast water. After...
