Fly tying and patterns sharing thread

Over a year since a pattern?!? Gotta fix that.... easy little fly with a couple little tying tricks: Simple Green Stonefly, no rib, no hackle. Just a nice profile meant to tumble through turbulence like the real ones do. Size 6 long nymph hook, bead, biots, peacock hurl, and rubber legs...

Every year the bugs come out earlier...... ODFW unnaturally warming the river to let the lake smolt out has nothing to do with that..... any ways, earlier (depending on weather and water temps) seems to get the hogs in close and looking up and I'll be there the week before Mem. day...

    Salmon fly themed swap?

I'm in, and was thinking about an "in person" swap. Memorial Day is monday may 26th, the week before that (mon-fri) is what I was thinking about. I thought 5 months notice might be feasible for such an endeavoure....... bugs are out, pre holiday, on the deschutes, overnighter? just...

What's the correct way to solve this problem?

first Q: Not really, air temp is gonna flash freeze your line (physics) its just a fact. You have the right idea with the 'dip' but, when it's freezing out, it's freezing out. second Q: I like Okuma, I've been happy with the four I own. ~Jimmy~
