    New to bass fishing help

I personally would go buy a couple rapala floating minnows, probably size 7, which is not real big and not real small. This has been my most consistent lure, other than junebug purple senkos. I like gold/black back best. It is easy to fish and if there are fish in the area, there is a good...

Willy smallmouth. My largest so far!

Well, I'm not sure about the Willamette being an impoundment of the Columbia, but it is not a "standing body of water." The 2 Rod validation is meant for lakes, ponds, and reservoirs, not streams and rivers. I had a feeling you had the validation and just didn't understand the regs. I'd love...

Willy smallmouth. My largest so far!

Nice Fish. I don't know that you are making it look smaller, that thing has quite the belly on it. Umm... Are you saying you were fishing two rods at the same time? I too have had good success on the Willy this year, mostly in the upper river between West Linn and Canby. I have caught more...

    Cottage Grove 8/10

Anybody been out in the past week or so, since I am supposed to be there this weekend. Want to make sure the water levels aren't too scary to run around in a boat.

    Personal best smallie!!!

Just out of curiosity, was this in the Elkton area, and did that fish happen to have only one good eye? I know of a hole there that has a hawg with one eye that has been caught quite a few times by a specific guide that lives nearby.

    Personal best smallie!!!

Awesome fish. I caught a similar sized one last summer from my kayak. I got so nervous when I saw it splash for the first time. I just kept telling myself, "don't lose this one, don't lose this one." When I went to pull it in, I could tell the hook was barely holding onto his lip. I fought...

    Cottage Grove 8/10

Thanks for the tip. High mercury as in eating any could be bad or just the typical, don't eat a ton of it over a short span of time? I typically C&R just about everything, but was thinking I might keep some if we did well enough.

    Looking for your advice

I would say it depends on how she prefers to fish and her general skill level. My two most sure-fire baits lately have been a 3" junebug purple senko (either texas-rigged or drop-shot), and a gold with black back rapala floating minnow (keep in mind I mostly fish for smallmouth). Both of these...

    Cottage Grove 8/10

Forgive me, as this is my first post on this forum, but I have a couple questions. I am heading to Cottage Grove Lake for the first time Labor day weekend and would take any info/advice I can get. I probably won't do a ton of fishing, but would love to get into any of the species you caught on...
