    Summer Lake in Beaverton

Fished there a lot twenty years ago as a kid, back then there were some huge bass and a ton of bluegill. Not sure how it fishes now. I used to toss a whole night crawler with no weight and retrieve in in slowly, the bass would pound it.

Sandy River fishing report from Cedar creek

You should have put Moe on your back and carried him across the creek! Nothing wrong with a man giving another man a piggy back ride, right?

    What hooks do you use?

Owner needle point, size 1 for yarn balls, 1/0 with corky. I don't think steelhead are hook shy, and if you hook a 15lb fish you will feel better knowing you have a good hookset.

Guess the size of this steelhead

    Ding - Ding - Ding! We have a winner! 37" x 18" 14.9lbs gutted. I think a solid 16 before.

    Upper Sandy River

I would say that any water above the old Marmot dam . i have only caught one hatchery fish above there.

    Why do you fish?

Just to feel those head shakes

    Where are all the coho?

Sandy wasn't a bust, you just missed it. The quality fish were there. Dark nooks and spawning ho's are what you will find right now.

    Where are all the coho?

You can't fish in the creek itself. That area is where the creek dumps into the Sandy, most people call that stretch of the Sandy "cedar creek".

Line still tangling and wrapping around

I use maxima Hi-Vis for the main line. you can go with 20lb if your trying to get more on your spool.

Line still tangling and wrapping around

Ultra green is just great line. I've tried lots of other line and prefer the ultra green for my plunking rigs. The chameleon is nice line also.

Line still tangling and wrapping around

Use 25lb mono main line. Get rid of the flouro, it develops memory and tangles on itself. Use 20lb maxima ultra green for you leaders and they will not tangle.

Line still tangling and wrapping around

Assuming your plunking. I had the same issue. Ditch the fluorocarbon. Go with a 20-25 lb mono, maxima works well . your tangles will be gone.
