    Best shot at browns?

They're good eating. I think you can catch em in just about any Cascade Lake. Cast in by debris on the bank. We had a couple great days at Crescent giving up on Kokes and targeting the Browns.

    Newbie bead fishing question

Some days bobber doggin em (setting the float real deep)works best, some days fishing em more like bobber and egg is best. It's a quick slide of the bobber stop to adjust from one style to the other. I normally start in a hole by bobber doggin em.

    My buddy's first steelhead

Great story... Every year I look back at my tag and it looks like I find a 3 year old to fill it out for me, after every fish. Only Salmon and Steelhead leave me with the shakes anymore...

    Third time's a charm

by any chance, did you carry it out on a stick? We pulled over to bank fish and I remember talkin to a guy hiking out with a buck about that size.

    What hooks do you use?

1 or 2 gamis in the winter. 4's in the summer. Of course, that could change in the different water condition.

    Vacuumed sealed fish

Anything over 6 to 8 month mark I smoke or cook with a Jamiacan Jerk recipe that I got from a local in Negril. It's the kind of recipe that'd make planter trout taste good. I'll eat fish over a year old in the frezer but 09 is almost 5 years old. I'd try to turn it into fresh crab meat.

    12-21 Alsea

We floated yesterday with 2 boats and 6 guys. Saw a couple fish but no biters. Ran into a fish counter at our take out, he said the only two fish he saw was from one bank angler below Mike Bauer.

    What to use for steelhead

Drift fish... and I really only use sand shrimp for summers. Sometimes I'll run em under a float with a ball of eggs for nooks.
