Blue Green algae- need info

Went up to the bridge last night at hills creek and the algae was thick! Does anyone have advice? How does it affect fishing and swiming? Is the lake cleaner @ the dam? Will this week of extreme heat affect the water?

Does anyone know of a better lure to troll than a brass spoon?
