    Razor clam retriever!

What a nice looking dog! My Bo Dog could have been a brother...looked almost the same except some brindle on chest and legs. As far as the clams go, you musta went north for those.....definitely not around Florence.

To early for the few fish out there. Wait until mid January....this river has one of the latest runs (historically) on the coast. My gas $$$ is too limited, ill wait till my chances are much better.

    Awesome looking week to come!

Gary Joe hole?? Is there anywhere online with a map of the Siuslaw with common 'hole names' listed?? I know a few and where all the parks are but thats it. Also, that Coho shows how good of run it was this year for them....middle Dec and still chrome fish!

    Citation on Lake Creek

The regs are NOT complex, most people understand them just fine. If you dont read them or look for the most current updates, then you have only yourself to fault.

    Lures of choice?

No need for any weight or flasher, these fish are in the top 5 feet or so. With anything flashy, you will have plenty of vis in the water. Anything with some flash, spoon, spinner, plug......bright flame red wiggle warts r popular too.

    Brown water

The bedrock of that river is very dark to begin with, so even when its clear it looks kinda murky dark brown

    Mr. Roger....Siltcoos dam

As I posted before, check with the The Sportsman, they almost always know when its open or not.

    Siltcoos Lake fishing reports

Actually the Coho run is about the only thing going on Siltcoos. The other fish populations have crashed in the last few years. The BG Algae bloom gets pretty bad sometimes too.

    Siltcoos Lake fishing reports

Yeah it would be nice if they would open it west of 101, with a deadline around the dam........open up a lot more bank access for people

    12 lb test ?

Yes get some braid. 50lb is fine, 30lb would even work but its such a small diameter it cuts you real easy. You can use pieces of braid for bobber stop knots (or fly line backing, dacron is good too). So on your braid...bobber stop, little bead, big bead, bobber, big bead, little bead, bobber...

    Elk River want to be

Of course when they average 40lbs, you only need one..lol :D

    Is it all over?

Fish will continue to come in clear into November.......just not that many. Some of my biggest chinook were caught before Thanksgiving certain years. The key is going to the most productive spots that might hold fish, so ur not wasting your time.

    Siuslaw bank advice

Get yerself a county pass, theres a nice deep hole @ Tide, and a decent one on the other bank @ Shindler. Both of those are county parks.
