Hagg Lake and a million dollar fish

Boat Lady, I'm in sales as well and you should understand that nobody wants to read that stuff when trying to find information. It's bad sales practice and I dont believe there is that much traffic going through this sites to play the numbers game also. Stick with the usual sales practices and...

    Interactive Wilson River fishing map

I agree with AKA TROUBLE. If you cut my line, I will throw you in the water and make you find it. Don't talk crap on this forum. This forum on here is great and I have a great appreciation for it. You better not post a pic of yourself on here because if i see you out on the Wilson, we will have...

The Wilson Really Is On Fire!

Man, I felt pretty stupid today fishing the Wilson at dawn this morning. The river was very murky, raining, windy, ripping current, and rising fast . I didn't have a chance to catch a thing and was probably the only one out there this morning. Probably not the smartest decision to fish the Wilson...

    Question...spawned-out salmon

I know exactly what you're talking about. About the same time last year, I saw the same thing. It was definitely a salmon or a monster steely but it was on its last few days for sure. Im heading up there tomorrow bright and early rain or shine. Water levels are rising and it will top out at...

    Back to basics!

Well, if you like to lake fish, it would be helpful to your odds to have a float tube or a pontoon boat so you're not limited to the shore. You also get a lil' cardio going from using your fins to swim around if you're doing it hard enough. Float tubin' is pretty fun on Hagg. Especially when you...

    Back to basics!

Yes, you definitely need a license to fish trout. If you end up wanting to fish for steelhead and salmon, you will need tags. These tags allow you to keep in total of combined steelhead and salmon to 20 per year. If you miss fishin, you will definitely learn to never stop doing it once you...

    Back to basics!

I believe people are catching trout from shore using a smaller "gold" kastmaster. I was using that lure and caught a few trout in my float tube in just an hour and an half out on Hagg lake. Let me know how it works for you :)

    Early season Hagg Lake trout

What area of the Hagg did you catch these? Nice job. I used a silver kastmaster out there all day the other day on my float tube and didn't catch anything :(

    Wilson River bank fishing

Hey thanks for the info ArcticAmoeba. Yeah I knew I might not catch the steelies laying on the bottom but it seems you gotta get that RT in their face to bite it. I am just about to leave for the Clackamas river today. I have never fished it before. Probably will be back on the Wilson Sat. or Sun.

    Wilson River bank fishing

I just went to the Wilson River today to catch some steelhead but forgot my drift tackle. Ended up using a all pink rooster tail and landed a few decent sized trout but no steelhead like I hoped for :(

    Vernonia Pond Fishing

well after doing research on the pond a little more, I found out that ODFW stocks adult steelhead in the pond in the winter so the "giant trout" I had on yesterday may as well have been a steelhead. Thats cool :)
