Looking for help with the Long Tom. I fished Fern Ridge and Kirk Pond, as well as the river below the dam, no luck. People say that the river above Fern Ridge is good for trout -- any suggestions on where a good spot might be to bank fish? Looks like most of the area just above the reservoir...

Drove from Monroe to Alsea today scouting the South Fork (never been fishing out there but the Fishing in Oregon book says you can do it). Anyone ever been out there to fish? Is it even worth it to try and lay some flies on the water, or should I just go down to Clemens and the North Fork...
