Honestly I like them more than the rockfish I get at the coast. These ones I got in the river while bank fishing small jigs. You absolutely have to be on or near the bottom. I loose a lot of gear but have had good success. Harvested about a dozen since Christmas. All near Springfield. Message me...
I was up lake Creek Saturday but only found a couple old coho. I will try Siuslaw maybe this coming Saturday. I wouldn't mind driving a little to an earlier producing river but with as little as I know I should stay close.
I think lake Creek is open for Chinook starting Oct 15th through Dec 31. So closed currently and once open the wild coho season is over. Yeah I think I'll take everyones advice and stick to chucking hardware from the rocks. Thanks for any advice!
Thanks for the tips. Super awesome that you share so much great advice on here. I have learned a ton from you. I think I will will stay in the bay near the north jetty with a few rods and a box full of spinners and buzzbombs. Thanks!
Thanks! I know of 2 caught above mapleton but that's it. Last weekend the coho were stacked just outside the jaws. So I'm hoping that Rhody drive or the north jetty will be productive Saturday during the incoming tide.
Thanks for info! I know I have until Oct 15th this year if I am able to find one. Going to throw spinners from north jetty on Saturday and then fish upriver from mapleton on Sunday. All bank bound.
You get into these while chasing some early winter steel? I was always curious if they went for any of the jigs or spinners I throw for steelhead. Thanks!
Hey yall, thanks for any input on the following subjects. I really appreciate this forum and all you guys willing to have a conversation and share a bit. I will be visiting Florence this coming weekend and plan to fish both upriver with bobber/eggs as well as from the rocks at north jetty with...
Ya I work at a boat shop here in Eugene so I have been hearing all about it. My focus has been towards the coast. Hoping this fall/winter brings some fun.
