    Default New to Oregon

Hi all. The Army actuallly sent me to Oregon working for the Corps of Engineers. I'm new to Portland and to the NW. I picked up flyfishing while I was stationed in Fort Lost-in-the-Woods, MO and just also recently picked up a spey rod. Although I prefer to flyfish, I'm not opposed to gear fishing. I'm looking to breaking skunk record after zero success in hooking a steelhead with a fly rod after about half a dozen outings. I would welcome any advice, tips, or invites to any trips. Thanks

Your not that far upriver from the Sandy River which has yielded some nice winter steelhead recently. Check the threads on the Sandy river and see if that helps you find some fish!

P.S. Try posting to the Fly Fishing Section and see if you get more responses.....
