I thought it was the 31st of October. If it's still open, get out there for one of the best times of the year for trout. Smallies are still active, and the largemouth should be in tight to scattered shallow structure.

Hours of Operation
Scoggins Valley Park and Henry Hagg Lake are open from sunrise to sunset seven days a week. The facilities open the first weekend of March -- on the first day of fishing season -- and close in November the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Funny how depending on what part of the state you live in dictates if you can angle all year long or not. Down here in the Springfield/Eugene area all the res. are open all year long and most of the rivers are open for Trout and Steelhead all year long. I don't think I would make it though the winter if I couldn't spend at least one day a week chasing Trout. The weather only dictates how many bottles of fuel I bring for the heater
I like stream angling in the winter, very few people and nice Trout to boot. If any one is interested in learning the ins and outs of my area let me know and we can work something out. I enjoy showing people how much fun winter angling can be if you prepare properly, a little Gortex goes a long way. Chuck

Well I went out for 3 hrs (too short, too short!) to Hagg last Tuesday and caught one about 10" maybe. But it was a beauty of a day, just perfect. I hope to get back once more before the 18th. The lake is sooooo low, it's weird. Thanks for all the info!

Went out today with Craig aka INSAYN we fish from 830am - 3 pm The bankers were pulling out small 8-12 inch fish and we saw 2 of them nail some nise 13-14 inchs. I only caught one fish trolling a roastertail spinner she was a huge almost steelhead sized hen and put up a mean fight on my 4 pound line. Craig nailed a 11-12 incher on the way back to the dock trolling some crazy minnow school and a weding ring with powerbait at the end. All trolling wasdone betwean 1 and 2 miles per hour. Ill get some pics of the fish up later.
