Default I'll be coming around the mountain when I come

Hello to all of those on this fine fine site. I look forward to moving to Oregon in the next month or so. Currently I live in North Carolina with my wife a baby boy and we are ready to get out of here and head westward. We've never been to Oregon, but I've read a lot of good things about Eugene and I can't stop drooling over the fly/trout fishing you guys have there. I'm an ICU RN (Intensive Care Nurse) so finding a job out there has been easy. It's selling our house here that's taking us so long.
Anwho. I've grown up fly-fishing the Midwest, yeah, the Midwest, Iowa of all places. But they did have great cold-water streams with great stocked trout. Lived in Colorado a few years ski bumming and fishing the Blue River, which was in my back yard. Also lived in Louisiana, best fishing ever!!! Specks & Reds, my favorite.
I can't wait to meet some of the people from this site. I look forward to learning new waters and new fishing styles and techniques. I'll be fully loaded when I make to Eugene, kayaks, canoe, and 16 foot flat bottom skiff for shallow water fishing, also does great on rivers.
Here are a few pics from my recent trip to louisiana. Look forward to meeting everyone soon

Exclamation Welcome To Off

Welcome to OFF, and Oregon...your right the angling here is great - it doesn't seem to matter what type you prefer either. There is plenty of water for all styles of angling. I like your boat....that should do you very well in this part of the state, I live in Springfield - just a stones throw from Eugene. We will have to get together and swap some fishing lies and do some angling. Have a safe trip !!

I can't wait to get over there, I miss the western states, just need this house to sell! It will be fun meeting and fishing with some of you. It's always nice to have someone around who knows the area. It's always nice to have someone to go with too.
My wife will prob kill me as soon as we get there. I'll be waist deep in water before she has a chance to blink. Anybody else have a random schedule like me? I tipic. will work my 40 hours in three days and have off the other four...good work schedule for fishing.

It's nice that they're flying us out, hooking us up with three nights hotel and a car rental. Tues. is interview day, wed. I'm plan on checking out the fishing around eugene, any sug. on best place to go with so little time? Also any good sug. on the best places to eat and see while we are in town?
Thaks for any help!

If your into Trout Fishing you could try the McKenzie river, plenty of bank access, there is also the Willamette river. Both offer Salmon, Steelhead and Trout.....there is even a small population of Walleye below the dam at Dexter dam. There are a few small res. within 35 min of the Springfield/Eugene area, when you get here and know what time frame your looking at give me a call and I can direct you from there. Send me a pm and I will give you my phone number. There are plenty of great places to eat, depending on your taste again when you call me I can direct you to Mexican,Italian and Asian. Have a safe trip and I look forward to hearing from you.
