Hi
I just joined the forum and am offering a friendly hat tip. I was looking on the Oregonian Outdoor forums and saw a post by Anitoliy referring to this spot. I looked at his map of the lake in Springfield (?) and when I saw the photos of the "Ukrainian" version of the lake I had a good laugh. I fish from the bank, and stay pretty close to home. I have a few too many hobbies and way too many chores (which I hardly ever do) Last week I fished a spot in Portland near the Hawthorne Bridge where I watched a homeless guy fish a year ago. He landed a beautiful bass (after tossing one or two back), then told me, "Yeah, I'll keep that one. I'll trade it to these Iranian guys who own a convenience store -- they'll give me two packs of Marlboros for it." This pic is my daughter. Last week she got two like this and I got one. Welcome ConcordBridge, I know the spot you fish and hoave thought about fishing there before. Good job on the fish. Remember that the water down there is very unsafe to eat fish from. The salmon and steelhead are prob ok but I would discourage any eating of bass, catfish, bluegill, or crappie. You can see inthe ODFW regs that there are warnings about eating the fish that live the lower Willamette year round. Just a tip. i'm sure many have eaten and lived to tell about it. Look forward to swaping techiniques on those SM bass.

Welcome aboard Concordbridge, we all start off shore fishing - until the boat bug bites......man when this bug gets you, your wallet takes a serious hit. Look forward to hearing about the Portland area.
