A great big welcome to OFF, nice to have you on board. I myself am a transplant from southern California. Its been over 25 years since I left and I have never regretted it, not even for a minute. As an angler you have picked a great place to live...Fresh water angling along with the salt.....As your traveling up to Portland you will pass through my area, if you would like and have the time -there are some great places in the Springfield/Eugene area to wet a line. Let me know if your interested.

Chuck

Welcome to OFF! I'm an native Oregonian and I think you'll find Oregon has on of the best fisheries in the nation. We have so mant different species of fish to go for, you could fish for a different one each day for a couple weeks, if you wanted. The fishing is a great part of the natural beauty of this state. I think you will love it here. I've been to many state's in our union and have never found another I like as well as my home state. Again, welcome!

I too hail from SoCal. Whittier to be exact. I have lived in Oregon for 18 years and love it here. Portland is the ticket for SoCalers in that it is big enough to entertain you,but small enought a not to overwhelm you. There are great lakes with an hours drive of Portland. North Fork is my favorite. Tt is along the Clackamas river valley and has great fly fishing opps as well as spinning. Good luck and Welcome to OFF. Go Dodgers!
